What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is an effective treatment using hormones that are identical to the hormones naturally made by your body. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) is transforming the lives of men and women as they enter the later stages of life. It provides an alternative to hormones that are synthetic, such as injectable testosterone, or hormones concentrated from horse urine (Premarin). Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy is made by compounding pharmacists in customized dosages based on the individual needs of the patient as opposed to the narrow choices available with mass-produced, or “one size fits all” hormone therapies.
A more natural approach to hormone therapy, often referred to as “natural hormone therapy” has focused attention on bioidentical hormones that are identical in molecular structure to the hormones that the male and female body naturally produces for itself. Although not found in this form in nature, they are derived and made from plant compounds extracted from yams and soy. The result is often the relief from symptoms of hormone deficiency, from insomnia, chronic fatigue, memory loss, and loss of libido.
What is Pellet Therapy?
Mint & Needle offers BHRT using Pellet Therapy. Bioidentical Pellet Therapy is a hormone replacement method in which replaces the natural hormones men and women lose with age. The pellets contain either estradiol or testosterone, which are pressed or fused into tiny solid cylinders. When administered, they deliver consistent and healthy levels of hormones for 3-5 months in women and 4-6 months in men. Pellets dissolve inside the body on their own and are re-implanted as needed depending on how rapidly the patient metabolizes the hormones. Pellets avoid the fluctuations of hormone levels seen with other delivery methods, providing more consistent hormone levels over a longer period.

How can you tell how many Botox units I need?
In clinical studies, Botox for upper face takes an average of 64 units. We determine your unique dosing based on your muscle strength and goals. The total amount used varies from person to person based those factors. Dose = longevity, so the lighter the dose the less duration.
How long does Botox last?
In clinical studies, Botox is shown to last on average 3 to 4 months (based on 64 units for the upper face). What if I hate my filler?
Being nervous about not liking the filler is a very normal concern. Rest assured knowing that there are reversal agents for some fillers like Juvéderm, Voluma, and Restylane.
How often should I get a facial filler?
We'll determine how often you need to come in based on the area of the face we’re working on. However, in most cases, we like to plan for yearly filler maintenance.
How do you know how many syringes of filler I need?
During your initial consult, we will discuss your goals. Based on your goals and the areas we’re treating, we will determine how many syringes of filler are needed. We are a results-focused practice, which is why we provide full facial balance treatments and packages. (We'll discuss this during your treatment consult.) We do also provide per-syringe treatments. The average person needs 1 to 2 syringes per area.
How long do fillers last?
Fillers can last anywhere from 10 to 18 months, as it depends on how fast your body metabolizes the product. Which filler is used (for example, Juvéderm, Radiesse, Voluma, or Restylane) all have different longevity.
