FAQs

What areas can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections? The most popular areas are the upper face: forehead lines, frown lines (the “11s” between your brows), and crow’s feet around the eyes. These are caused by repeated muscle movement, and anti-wrinkle treatments like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin relax those muscles to soften lines and help prevent new ones from forming. We also offer specialty treatments, such as jawline slimming and treatment for excessive sweating. Ask us during your consultation!

How do you know how many units I need? In clinical studies, treating the full upper face (forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet) took an average of 64 units of Botox. Your provider will create a custom plan based on your muscle strength, the areas you want to treat, and your goals. Dose affects longevity, so a lighter dose usually means results won’t last as long.

When will I see results? Most patients start to notice softening within a few days, with full results at about two weeks.

How long does it last? In clinical studies, Botox lasted an average of 3 to 4 months (based on 64 units for the upper face). How long it lasts for you depends on your dose, how active your lifestyle is, and how your body metabolizes the product. Some patients also respond better to one brand than another, which is why Mint & Needle carries Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

Is there any downtime? Most patients go right back to their day. You may have mild redness or small bumps at the injection sites that fade quickly. Your provider will go over aftercare instructions, like avoiding lying down or strenuous exercise for a few hours.

What is a Tox Booster? A Tox Booster pairs a chemical peel with your anti-wrinkle treatment to boost your results and help them last longer. You’ll get your peel first, then finish with your injections. Studies show that with a Tox Booster, patients saw:

  • 60% reduction in pigmentation
  • 60% fewer wrinkles at 30 days (vs. 37% at 7 days)
  • 70% improvement in skin tone
