Giving Tuesday at Mint & Needle: Supporting Our Daily Bread This December

At Mint & Needle, giving back isn’t something we do once a year—it’s one of the core pillars of who we are. Our work is rooted in empowerment, confidence, and care, and those values extend far beyond our treatment rooms. We believe in supporting our neighbors, strengthening our community, and using our platform to make a meaningful impact.

That’s why this Giving Tuesday, and throughout the month of December, Mint & Needle is proud to support Our Daily Bread (ODB)—an organization doing extraordinary work right here in our local community.

Why We’re Supporting Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread is the only regular source of free hot meals in Southern New Castle County. They operate through the generosity of more than 300 active volunteers, all working together to prepare meals, serve guests, rescue food, organize pantry donations, and keep the facility running smoothly.

Their impact is profound:

  • 48,000+ meals served last year, averaging more than 4,000 per month

  • 1,300+ people receiving meals each month

  • 7 hot meals served weekly—including dinners Monday through Friday and lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • Zero barriers to service: no requirements, no conditions, just dignity, compassion, and a welcoming space for all

In addition to hot meals, ODB also provides Friday grocery bags, a 24/7 community refrigerator and freezer, and distributes more than 16,000 pounds of food every month from local farms, restaurants, and grocery partners.

ODB is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and every donation directly fuels their ability to feed our neighbors with care.

How You Can Give Back with Us

Until December 22nd, we will be hosting donation boxes in both of our Mint & Needle locations.

These boxes will collect essential pantry items that directly support Our Daily Bread’s mission. Every contribution—big or small—helps ensure that local families and individuals have access to hot meals, groceries, and community support when they need it most.

When you visit Mint & Needle for an appointment or to pick up skincare essentials, we invite you to drop a donation into one of our boxes. It’s a simple way to make a deeply meaningful difference.
