At-Home Skincare Tips You Can Use During Quarantine

Quarantine is a strange time for us all. Many of our favorite community spots are closed, plus events cancelled and postponed - we are finding ourselves stuck inside without access to so many of our typical day-to-day items. And while the health and safety of humanity is important, routines have changed which could be impacting your skin.

Certain skincare tips and medical-grade products can keep the skin hydrated and healthy during this unique time.

Here are 5 at-home skincare tips and products to help you maintain healthy skin during quarantine:

  1. Hyaluronic acid for hydration. During quarantine we could be finding ourselves moving around less and drinking less water since we are indoors more. This can dry out our skin. It is important to incorporate hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin. Hyaluronic acid helps hydrate the skin by attracting water to the skin, giving you a plump and hydrated appearance. One of our favorite products is the Ultra Calm Hydrating Collagen Stimulating Serum.

  2. Be sure to continue to wear SPF daily! Even if you are just going outside briefly, your skin still needs sun protection when you are outside walking the dog, playing with children or getting fresh air. Don’t fall out of your SPF habit. The SPF we use is the hydrating UV tinted SPF - this medical-grade moisturizer has both hyaluronic acid and SPF to product your daytime skin in one product.

  3. Exfoliate your skin 2-3 times per week. This helps slough off all that dead skin and help your skin absorb your skin care products better. We love the Exfoliating Scrub.

  4. Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acid complexes promote exfoliation of dead surface cells, which lessen as we age. Products with these ingredients enhance cellular renewal to refresh the skin surface. Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acid complexes penetrate deep into pores to regulate sebum production and inhibit acne bacterial growth from within. Use Mint & Needle Purifying Pads for both anti aging and clear skin.

  5. Drink plenty of water. A good rule of thumb is to drink your bodyweight in ounces per day…. Really! Water is essential for skin health and many other bodily functions. Don’t let dehydration keep you from glowing skin!
